The ancient Ngorongoro Crater is a UNESCO world heritage site and one of the most interesting parks of Tanzania. Ngorongoro is often regarded as the 8th wonder of the world, from stunning landscapes, wildlife concentrations to the “cradle of mankind”, Ngorongoro has it all. The Crater is the remnant of the explosion of a huge volcano, which happened two to three million years ago. Ngorongoro Crater is situated some 190 km, West of Arusha between Lake Manyara and Serengeti National Parks. Covering approximately 8,292 square km.It consists of the Ngorongoro Crater itself,Ndutu, Oldonyo Lengai Mountain and the Olduvai Gorge where Dr Leaky first discovered human remains so ancient hence they proved that the human species originated in Africa.

Wildlife Highlights
The crater floor is home to tens of thousands of plains animals, including wildebeest, zebra, gazelles, elands, elephants, mountain reedbuck, buffaloes and a large predator population of lions, leopards, hyenas, wild dogs, cheetahs and jackal which can all be viewed at close quarters. The rare black rhino can be viewed here and over 500 species of bird which include ostrich, white pelican, and flamingo.
